John 1:1, 14 (ESV)
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

This week, we’ve been talking about the living aspect of God’s Word. Hebrews tells us the Word of God is living and active. John goes even deeper and shows us that the Word is actually an extension of God Himself.

The Bible is God’s Word “breathed out,” and Jesus is God’s Word “sent out.” Jesus was sent to earth as the Word.

God showing Himself through Jesus was the most profound way He could reveal who He is. Through the human life of Christ, we see God in the flesh—His ways and His will made clear.

Hebrews also tells us that God spoke to us through His Son. As we read the Gospels and watch Jesus in action, we see God’s Word at work.

Jesus’ life reveals God Himself and His glory:
The way He lived.
The way He loved.
The way He served.

Scripture isn’t just historical or theological writing. It’s living. It carries life and power. So don’t just read the Bible—feed on it. Let it shape you, knowing that in a real and mysterious way, Christ Himself is working in you to heal, save, and form you into who you were created to be.

As you grow in this relationship with Christ through His Word, you become a “living epistle” that brings glory to God.

Prayer:
Father God, help us grow in our relationship with Jesus through Your Word. Help us not underestimate the living force that is present when we spend time in the Bible. Help my kids grow in their understanding and appreciation of Your Word. In a world of AI, false religions, and political unrest, teach us to trust Your Word no matter what our visual reality looks like. We trust You, Jesus. Prove Yourself to us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
